College 3 are pleased to announce the long awaited arrival of their new college pets...

Students in college 3 have been involved in the whole process of preparing for, choosing, buying, and then bringing home our 3 new chickens.

 

The chickens are living in a purpose built coop and outdoor run situated in the college grounds.

Students from all classes in school will be responsible for the care and well-being of the chickens, and this has already caused great excitement from many of our pupils.

The girls are yet to be named, as we are welcoming suggestions from the entire school before choosing our final 3 names.

 

We are looking forward to the coming months when hopefully we will be collecting our fresh eggs each morning.

Our main focus in C1 this term has been developing our independent living skills to help us in many areas of our lives in the future including; making our own food for lunch which we eat together, cleaning and drying our clothes, cleaning skills such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and wiping, as well as looking after our own personal hygiene.
