The 16-19 tuition fund has been allocated to colleges, in addition to the main college funding, to help support learners aged 19-24 with an EHC plan who have yet to achieve a grade 4 in GCSE English and/or Mathematics. This funding is specifically targeted to address potential attainment gaps caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Brentwood College has a robust system to enable appropriate intervention and support for those learners who fall within this category. All our work through the Tuition fund is aimed at accelerating progress and moving learners towards their expected progress based on their starting points. We are committed to:
- Allocating resources to support any learner who has had their learning disrupted by the pandemic
- Ensuring that learners who fall into this category receive extra tuition above and beyond their normal programme of study
- Providing outstanding small group tuition with specialist staff
- Prioritising learners for extra tuition on a risk basis, to ensure that those who need extra support most, receive it first
